SORBA Tri-Cities Wins Pinnacle Award

Updated: Jul 3

At the prestigious Pinnacle Awards hosted by Adventure Travel News, Abraham McIntyre proudly accepted the Adventure Tourism Award on behalf of SORBA Tri‑Cities, honoring their exceptional contributions to outdoor recreation and sustainable adventure tourism.

The Adventure Tourism Award celebrates organizations that deliver outstanding outdoor experiences, prioritize environmental stewardship, and enhance local communities. SORBA Tri‑Cities, a chapter of the Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association, was recognized for its visionary work in developing and maintaining mountain bike trails across the Tri-Cities region, including Johnson City, Kingsport, and Bristol.

Under McIntyre’s leadership, SORBA Tri‑Cities has garnered momentum in creating more exceptional riding experiences, but have also fostered community engagement that aims to boost local tourism efforts and improve the lives of residents in the Tri-Cities through trails.

“SORBA Tri‑Cities is deeply honored to receive this award,” said Abraham McIntyre. “This recognition reflects years of teamwork from impassioned volunteers and local partners.”

Looking ahead, SORBA Tri‑Cities aims to expand trail networks, introduce improved riding programs, and host more community-driven events. The organization remains dedicated to creating, protecting, and enhancing trail experiences in the Tri-Cities region.
