Why don't I see any events in Golden Volunteer?

Golden Volunteer is used for scheduled work parties and volunteer events. If you don't see any SORBA Tri-Cities events then that means that there are no scheduled volunteer opportunities available. You may see results outside of your chosen parameters to display and this is because how those events are created and are meant to be displayed to the largest audience possible. This does not mean that your filtered view is broken.

How can I log hours outside of scheduled events?

If there are not scheduled events available and you would like to log your volunteer hours, you can do so as a Virtual Volunteer. SORBA Tri-Cities has an exclusive list of volunteers who are trained and understand the basics of trail construction and maintenance

who are able to log their own hours. If you are a Virtual Volunteer, you will see those options available in the app. To inquire about being a Virtual Volunteer, please contact us.

Why do I need to register for volunteer events?

There are varying reasons why you should register for volunteer events. Registering gives the event coordinator an idea of how many volunteers to expect which helps with planning for food, drinks and tools. This also makes managing the workday event much easier for the event coordinator as it allows you to sign your waiver ahead of time and check in on the app.

Volunteer hours equal dollars. The more value we can provide to the community, the more opportunities and funding we will be able to take advantage of.

How do I check in at volunteer workdays and events?

There are a few ways you can check in during a workday event. You can check-in on the app for events you have registered for or you can check-in with the event coordinator who can mark you down as attended. If you can't do either of these, let us know and we can make sure that your volunteer time is accounted for.
